If a member knows, they will send you a private message.

I am sorry your daughter is developing these additional illnesses and hope they can be resolved.

I will mention that many of us who are hypothyroid develop stomach problems and although the symptoms are similar to high acid, we usually have low acid which is also very painful. This is a link, just in case:-

If you have a print-out of your daughter's most recent blood test, you can post on a new question for members to comment on them. Some GP's believe it is correct to keep our TSH 'within range' but this may not make us feel better. Has your daughter also had a blood test for Vitamin B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate. If not ask for these to be done as we are usually deficient and can cause problems in themselves.

It is a worry for you and your daughter and I hope her health improves soon.

If you email louise.warvill@thyroiduk.org she has a list of doctors.

Sorry - I am not able to help you with a Specialist as I live in Crete. I too have Crohns - now over 40 years since diagnosis - and I am taking a large dose of VitD. It is more than just a vitamin and is a steroidal pre-hormone and anti-inflammatory. There is a link with LOW VitD and chronic conditions...and there is an article on...

about Crohns and VitD. I am sorry to read about your daughter - it must be a worrying time for you both. Most auto-immune issues start with the gut - without us being aware - so we never really know - chicken or egg....

You really need a Functional Medicine Practitioner that will look at the whole body....whereas in the UK you will see a variety of specialists for each condition - and they rarely put their heads together. Going the Private route is really the only possible route....

Email louise.warvill@thyroiduk.org for a list of Private GPs, including a Functional Medicine Practitioner in Hampshire..

I have no experience of the above clinic - but possibly it could be a start for you....

Hope your daughter soon feels better....

Not sure if I should have mentioned the above link - many apologies if that is so - please delete if I have contravened any rules or guidelines....

HI teen 60, so sorry to hear your daughter is having such a difficult time. I can't recommend a specialist near to you but I have found Izabella Wentz Thyroid Pharmacist on facebook and you tube really helpful in looking at the autoimmune aspects of gut and thyroid issues, Izabella also sends out a monthly newsletter which is really informative: check her out to sign up - also Donna Eden Energy Medicine - both have a great wholistic approach and might help to shed light on some of your daughter's specific issues. My son has had a long journey and now it seems coeliac is his main problem with thyroid secondary - still learning . . . . . Healing thoughts on the way :-)
