Armour is the original Natural Dessicated Thyroid Hormone, made from pig or cow thyroid. It is dried and processed. It contains all of the hormones our thyroid gland did produce normally before giving up the ghost or stuttering along.

Levothyroxine is a synthetic thyroid gland hormone.

Before the blood tests were introduced in the 60's patients were medicated according to their clinical symptoms and at least given a trial of Armour. In the USA doctors are given incentives to use pharmaceutical products and so the blood tests and levo were promoted enthusiastically as the 'perfect' way to diagnose thyroid gland problems.

As you may now realise, many people are told they do not have a problem because the TSH is not in a 'range' and about ten years after the introduction of the tests/levo 'new' diseases were named, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and ME. There was the first death of a young woman in the UK who was obviously untreated as I assume they have no proper treatment:-

Levothyroxine is a synthetic version of T4 which is some of what the thyroid produces and is an inactive storage hormone. Armour is a natural desiccated thyroid pill made from pigs which contains both t4 , t3 the active hormone and t1and t2 as well as calcitonin . Works much better for some people and was used for years to treat thyroid sufferers before Levo came on
