this started to happen after i had my colonsopy that i had no urge to pee anymore.

went doctors and they said nothing was wrong i did not have a water infection than finally got someone to sort it out, so was about to have a rigid cystospy but it got cancelled because of my blood tests that i may be animc but i am depressed and worried as i think i may wet myself not only that but i lost the urge to go toilet all together not for just peeing. and this aint the only problem i really just wanna die because i cant feel anything as some days i feel like im not alive and feel like i aint here which results in me not feeling my legs and my mums like there is nothing wrong when she dosent know my mind does she and i just feel like dying cz when im 20 ill be going through the same thing over and over again and dnt feel like ill get better cz im worried and do not feel alive any more why shall i live when i cant feel alive even though i have uni and im only 19 but i dont feel alive.

Hi aqil-it's awful when you feel depressed and don't know what to do next....if you are anaemic this could be making you feel really bad...fatigued and down. Are the doctors treating you for anaemia? Did you or your Mum get a copy of your blood results? If you did if you write the results in a post here people may be able to advise you on some simple supplements to take to help you feel better.

I think you should see a dr. as soon as possible if you are actually retaining urine as your body will be filling up with toxins and you could eventually develop kidney failure. If you feel really ill if I were in your situation I would go to A and E.

thank you been many times and they keep sending me back home or checking if i have a water infection but i go doctors here and see but im not registered at my home doctors but university ones and they are awful it took me 3 times to actually be refereed

Hi Is your GP any good? it is always a mistake to go to A and E, unless very luck as you will not be referred to the correct consultant. Have you had TSH, T4 and free T3 tested for thyroid disease.? You can on line if not.The symptoms are often depression , just as you describe. I would also ask the gP for U`s and e`s, kidney, LFT`s liver, b12 + folic acid, autoimmune, hormonal. Vi t D, hormonal, and ferritin/iron. Ask for the this test to include the transference % as that shows the absorption. Is it possible that you have caeliac disease, autoimmune? The only way to b e sure, if you think this applies is to go Gluten free for 6 weeks and see. Diabetes test, autoimmune and hormonal would also be a good idea. Definitely an ultra sound of the abdomen if not have one recently.Then if nothing turns up ask for a referral. The problem is now that consultants have specific specialties, so unless the correct referral you could well not be diagnosed.

Above all if you think there is something wrong,fight for the care you need. it is not imagination, we know our own bodies best. Do not be referred to a psyche unless you are sure that really is the problem.Of all consultants an Endocrinologist covers most of the body.

As above,

First tell the GP how ill you feel, but do not say anything that may think it is all Psyche, certainly not at this stage, you do not want this label!

Ask for the blood tests, they are all routine, also an FBC (full blood count). My instinct is that it is hormonal, these tests are, thyroid, TSH , T4 and FT3, useless without all 3, a lot of docs will only do TSH, if so only way is on line.I use Blue Horizon but do not go through a private hospital, expensive.

Also hormonal.vit D, commonly low in UK,

B12 + Folic acid, anemia, Diabetes ( can have few symptoms to start with)

iron/ferrtin, not hormonal but if low makes you feel rotten.

LFT`s for liver function, common test can show lots of things,

U `s and E`s, kidney ditto,

If nothing then do you think it may be Gluten, Caeliac disease? Ask if possible for an ultra sound abdomen.

Tell the GP you do not want him to stop testing until he finds the cause and treatment.is it possible you have a long standing urine/kidney infection? These can ,make you feel rough. if you think this may be so, ask for a MSU ( midstream) urine test, GP.

Some times, urine/renal infections do not show in the urine, this is well known by kidney specialists, GP`s not so enlightened.If bad your temp will be raised at night.Untreated it can make you feel terrible.

Hi An on going urine or kidney infection can take a lot of finding. repeat tests, check urine colour, cloudy, bloody etc. and Temp at night, it would only be up a little ie slight fever if lasted a long time. Also a blood test for infection, GP.Eventually it is bad enough to find.All the blood tests should show what is wrong, all very basic. If not go further. Certainly ask to see a urologist, if nothing found.

Hi, aqil, I have a bladder disease now for 16 years and I feel numb. I thought it was all to do with that, but lots of people have told me this can happen when you have low B12. Low B12 can damage your nerves, and mine affect emptying my bowel too, so it's really hard to poo

What I've been doing for years is peeing by the clock. You know an hour after having a big drink it's worth having a pee. I'm really hoping the B12 will help this.

Have you had yours checked?

I never let myself go more than 3 hours without the loo. Then other days I can barely make it to the loo, but you know what you get into a routine and learn to manage it. I'm pretty sure this lack of feeling will be temporary for you. You're really young and I'm sure it will settle.

thank you finally people listen i just dont know what it is i go after an hour i had a drink even being a small one i just lost all ability to tell me when to go but the doctors stopped the test because of my blood tests i just dont knw if i could get better but i just hope it will just dont know

Another tip I can give you is rocking forward and back on the loo, this helps to empty your bladder.

It seems terrible at the moment, I thought my life was over too, but I trained my bladder to stop me going every 10 minutes day and night. It took a long time but it worked. The numbness I'm living OK with, as I say I wee by watching the clock. Obviously you go to the loo before you go out, and it's good to have something to eat before you go, even a piece of toast works for me. Unless you have a prolapse you shouldn't leak any wee so please stop worrying about this xx

Definitely get your B12 checked though. If your B12 is low it can damage your nerves giving you the numb feeling. I'm injecting it and hoping it will all improve.

Good Morning,

I think they gave you an infection when you had the colonoscopy, quite easy too. I also think you definitely have a hormonal problem. If thyroid tests and they only do TSH it is often missed.Low vit D being hormonal affects it. if B12 low in its huge range, hormonal and autoimmune that could be affecting it too.

If thyroid disease B12 needs to be really high in range, roughly in the top third of range.

Make yourself a list to go to the GP for your own use as a prompt. Make sure you tell them all this,otherwise they may miss a clue. Also tell them what you want, your body, you know best.

If you have 2 different problems , as I believe, it is much harder for a doc to diagnose, you are the only one really who can.That is what all my brilliant consultants say to me.

HI I think you have a low grade urine infection from the colonoscopy. Also a separate problem as the rest sounds like hormonal, that is thyroid, Diabetes, B12 or even vit D.. That is why I say those blood tests.

Hi Try not to worry about that as probably will not happen. You also need a cystoscopy, a tiny procedure to look at the bladder through a scope. it is too much of a coincidence that this happened after the colonoscopy..Stress that to the GP.

You said that your bloods went funny then too.Did you have the results yourself + ranges? treatment? re blood tests done?GP ASAP, not good to worry about it at your age, it needs to be sorted.
