These are my blood test results.

The doctor printed them out for me on Friday. I have photographed and cropped the picture to make it easier to post them.

When I was first diagnosed he started me off on 25 mcg but now I'm 50mcg. I feel incredibly lucky that I don't feel ill (other than a few of the symptoms) as so many people here do.

I have no idea what they mean and it wasn't explained to me because I was on the phone about something else when I asked him about having them.

I had thought I was due a blood test but it turned out that there is another 3 months of Levothyroxine to take first so he also wrote out my next prescription to collect with the printout from the surgery at the same time.

Thanks for posting but there are no ranges stated. I assume you were diagnosed on 14/6/11 and prescribed medication.

It's very fortunate you don't have clinical symptoms and feel quite well. Long may it continue.

What do you mean when you say 'ranges'?

They're similar to this :- 4.68mu/l (0.35-3.50) figures in brackets.

The lower limit for Free T4 must be 9 because 9.6 was within range and 8.7 was below range (-). Similarly the upper limit for TSH must be between 4.66 and 6.72 (probably 5.0). That's a good start. Most people would still feel a bit ropey with these results. Your 'few symptoms' might improve if you went up to 75 mcg, or 50mcg and 75mcg on alternate days. You could point out to your doctor that your TSH is slowly drifting upwards.

Our surgery is a training surgery so there are always different doctors there, and we can see who we like if our own isn't available that day.

I had asked the receptionist if a doctor could ring me back so the doctor who called me was different and while talking to him I happened to mention that I had joined this group and asked if he had heard of it.

He told me that he had come down from a practise in Leeds and that one of his patients up there was a member too. Actually while he was printing the results out for me to collect, he told me that it looked as if it was rising slightly.

He gave me the impression that he knew what he was talking about. His name is Dr.Mark Lee.

That's all I was given, other than that there was just my name and the name of the surgery at the top of the page.

I have just checked in my diary that I keep on my computer, I had a blood test for cholesterol and thyroid on the 28th May 2009 and was diagnosed in June 2009.

I hadn't realised that it was that long ago as it only seems like a couple of years to me.

The other night I started taking my medication at midnight instead of the morning and it seems to make me sleep! which is a miracle because it has always taken me three or more hours to try and drop off, sometimes I have still been awake when the dawn chorus starts. One night I didn't sleep at all and gave up trying.

Did you know that your TSH is highest first thing in the morning? That's the best time to have your blood test done.
