Autoimmune illness,is there one site.

How can I tie up the different autoimmune illnesses. I'm on this site for my autoimmune thyroid illness but I have other autoimmune issues, psoriasis and arthritis. So I'm going from site to site looking for info. and asking questions. If it's this difficult for me it's no wonder the medical profession can't work it out.

Maybe you or someone else could start their own community on healthunlocked for autoimmune diseases in general.

Hi Reallyfedup,Wish I'd chosen that name.

Yes I'm convinced all these things are related. I spent three years under rheumatology but I can't tolerate the drugs,so he sent me to the pain clinic, which was a waste of time. I am now under another rheumatologist but they don't see the connection, even though I gave them the notes from the first one. I have asked a longer version of this question on the NRAS site, even writing it out made me cross. xx

Can I ask if you know what the correct meds were, maybe beaton could ask for something similar.

What rheumatology tests?

Last bloods Jan.6th.

TSH 0.078

T4 13 (11-24)

T3 5.1 (4-6.8)

was on T3/T4 at the time against endos advice,as he said my T3 was at the top of the range,it's mid way. Decided to try Paul Robinsons advice to go T3 only.

Cholesterol, 4.6

I'm gluten free and a lifelong vegetarian.

L had my gallbladder removed nearly two years ago.

No other operations.

Cook with coated pans.

Live in Cornwall but not near Camelford. So think the water is o.k.

I had "flu" way back in 1979 followed by psoriasis and downhill slowly from there on.

Thanks for your help.xxx

Hi Beaton, you could try reading "the paleo solution" by Robb Wolf which explains auto immune conditions in the context of trying a gluten and dairy free diet. "the Wahls protocol" ids also a very good book. I am hypo and have raised antibodies and once all my blood/urine test are done I am going to try the paleo diet to see if it reduces my antibodies and therefore improves my health

Hi Crimple,I'll look into paleo again but it's difficult being a vegetarian,I know there is a site that deals with this, To be honest I'm running out of ideas as to what to eat, might be time for another change.xx

Thanks for that Reallyfedup.,I will look into it. I do have stainless steel pans which I use for veg but do use the coated ones for milk based sauces.xx

Proper stainless steel, copper bottomed. Thanks for the info. on H Tomlinson, will look that up. I did know about aluminium but nice to be nudged to remember it.I worked in catering, mostly schools etc all my working life and do believe the aluminium pans have effected the children. xx
