T3 withdrawal in 2012

Does anyone know why there was a T3 withdrawal in 2012 (or might be 13)? I remember having a real difficulty finding supplies, then just as I ran out, it came back on line. All products were withdrawn from the factory and no UK suppliers had any stocks. Just wondered if it was to do with dosage, supply or another factor?

it was not 'withdrawal',

this last year for a couple of months, it was a 'production problem' due to AmdiPharm not being able to 'source' the 'active ingredient'. It was not handled all that well as they should have known in advance enough to warn people but it was not so for a few weeks there was 'panic' re: getting hold of T3.

Many (including me) got prescribed 'unlicensed' T3 for that period, I was put on 'thybon' german T3

but as soon as the uk one was back in stock it was life back to normal

PS some other pharmaceutical companies who also sourced the active ingredients from same place also had the same problem btw.
