The last blood test I had for my thyroid (I am hypothyroid) and my tsh was 0.01 (range 0.01 -5.7) and my T4 was 9 but my antibodies were normal does this mean anything?

Can you post the lab ref range for your FT4 and the result and ref range for your antibodies?

Normal antibodies means you don't have Hashimoto's autoimmune disease.

Hi Antibodies just means they have responded to treatment or not autoimmune Hypo. Treatment is the same any way

What are you taking and what dose.Do you still feel the thyroid is "off "

You need the ranges for all blood tests, always as vary .You also need a FT3 test with ranges,Ask the receptionist for results with ranges.

With best wishes,

Jackie

secondary hypothyroidism? Because with a T4 of 9 you should have a high TSH not a low one (assuming that your T3 is normal). Or you have high T3?

What does secondary hypothyroidism mean

It means hypothyroidism not caused by a fault with the thyroid but secondary to another fault eg a malfunctioning pituitary that is not producing enough TSH. Your blood tests are suggestive of this. Low TSH and low T4. Ask your dr about this and ask to be referred to an endocrinologist if possible.

The range for T4 is 6.3-14.0

This is an unusual T4 range. Usually the range is something like 9-24

Well if that range is right my t4 at one time was 6.3 so I was really low

What does it mean if you have a low T4 and a suppressed TSH and I have never had a test for T3 the doctor has never even mentioned doing a test

I have hashimotos and normal antibodies because I have had it for 24 years so prob no thyroid left for the antibodies to attack.
