Could be dry eyes as watery eyes can be one of the symptoms, worth popping into your local pharmacy and asking advice as to what be best to use x

Thanks Helen, Think I will do that. Still puffy this morning, why do they call it "dry eyes" when its anything but dry. x

Hi appy45

Was wondering a few days ago if there was a link between watery eyes and Thyroid, I knew gritty eyes were a symptom. My elderly Mum has Hypo and watery eyes the same as myself. Hubby has had them for ages and funny enough we are trying to get him checked for either underactive thyroid or B12 deficency.

Mine have stopped now after many years of putting up with it and thinking I needed to get my tear ducts unblocked.

I was told to put a tiny smear of Vaseline in the inner and outer corner of each eye, I always thought it was that that had cured it, but might be coincidental that my Levothyroxine medication stopped them watering, though still have the gritty eyes, which were almost cured for two whole weeks when I first changed taking my Levo to night times (on an empty stomach and 4 hours away from iron and calcium/dairy foods.)

Unfortunately everything is now in reverse and my Levo again needs upping or vits and minerals sorted too, noticed my clear bright eyes have become gritty once again.

Morning Coastwalker, Have been hypo for about 8 years, used to get gritty eyes when I was hyper. Seeing endo in February, as last 2 years keep seeing dr , tinnitus, ended up with hearing aid ( don't need it ) breathlessness, had 2 ecg's, heart tested, a CT scan, all ok. Then sleeplessness, gave me antidepressents. Took the first month, no good, then nausea and dizziness, gave me morning sickness pills. She said I can see endo " to put my mind at rest" .

Morning to you too appy45,

Just adding that Hubby too has had tinnitus for several years now, I have read that it is a symptom of either Hypothyroidism or VitB12 deficency (or could be under both both.)

Hi Coastwalker, I had blood test for Vit B 12 in December. 451 ng/L (130-800) Ferritin 54. I know it's low, but Dr's response " its in range" I got a copy of test results, as she told me all vitamin tests ok, but only tested for B 12.

Yes,I heard that about tinnitus. Does your hubby get the noise in ear at night ,like heart beat? I'm sure thats what wakes me up. x

His Tinnitus he hears in all his waking hours, it's a buzzing sound.

I have dry eye syndrome and I use Theratears which I order online....everything else irritated them. I think it could be related to my fibromyalgia and Hashimotos immune disease somehow but I find these drops have helped me only need them about two to three times a day. Goodluck...I would go doc or specialist or even optamologist to get a diagnosis and check for sure.
