I have just logged into the Nhs Talk health Forum which is on Weight this month. The section on Thyroid and weight gain has a question on weight gain. The 2 answers are deplorable. I made a comment. I think as many of us as possible should go in there and comment on the replies. What do you all think?

I can't find I. Found something on weight gain and willpower but can't find thyroid question

Found it. You have to log in first and it's under thyroid section. I will compile an answer later. If only it was that simple. W would all just cut back on the carbs!

They also had a Talkhealth last year on thyroid gland and were indundated. Our queries on T3 or NDT were ignored and even though it made no difference to how our treatment I should think they were very surprised by the amount of entries. It was the highest number ever on one illness, I believe.

Ghastly. Smug. Who cares about the stupid man's 'six-pack'? And the patronising woman and her 'try and lose just a little bit of weight'. Grrr.

I read your reply Myrna and a very good one it was too! Their replies were sanctimonious, patronising claptrap and that's putting it mildly. They really have no idea at all.

I was so furious I was hopping mad when I read their replies. I thought we could band together and give them a rousing what for. makes me wonder how they ever got anywhere in their professions. To think people actually take their advise to heart poor souls. They get paid to insult our intelligence and send us into despair. No wonder we suffer from depression.

So agree on every count! The last twice that I've been to the rheumatologist they have found blood in my urine. It gets sent off for testing and that's it! according to the NHS website any patient over 50 who has blood and protein in their urine - which I did last time - should be urgently referred to a nephrologist. Have I been referred, well I'll let you guess that one. I have a double appmnt with my GP who is looking back through all my records to see if anything has been missed. She doesn't know about the latest bloods! I despair. As you say, no wonder we're depressed.
