I asked Teva about their position (given many of us think that this is the same product):
... we supply to our wholesale partners who hold between 4 and 6 week’s worth of stock for us. Therefore if we do end up out of stock we should hopefully have enough stock available through wholesale channels to cover until we get our next delivery.
I can confirm that as it currently stands we are fully in stock of all 3 of the strengths, although the 50mcg does look slightly low in comparison to our forecast due to current demand for this strength.
So, fingers crossed for those who need it, Teva might be able to make up for Mercury Pharma.

Mercury Pharma do not actually have a monopoly on liquid levothyroxine - Teva also supply the market.
Without knowing more, it might actually be to their credit.
Recently there have been several recalls of Boots products and, today "Class 2 Medicines Recall (action within 48 hours): Tixylix® liquid medicines - Novartis Consumer Health UK Ltd (EL (13)A/30)" due to finding small pieces of plastic in the medicines.
It is not impossible that Mercury Pharma's quality control people were very alert and noticed a problem before the product was even distributed. That would, of course, potentially leave patients short but nonetheless that would have been done to protect them from the consequences of a problem.
I am not an apologist for MP/AMCO. Simply one of many left wondering but without sufficient evidence to come to a clear conclusion.
