docs tomorrow, for bloods and confession...!!

hi all,

off to docs tom after 3 weeks on higher dose of eltroxin. my last bloods before increase were:

tsh: 0.88 (0.42-4.3)

t4: 15.1 (10-22)

so doc agreed to let me trial a higher dose of alternate 75/100...however i have pretty much gone up to 100, maybe have 75 one day a week, feel ok, a bit anxious and moody once or twice (so had 75 the following day) but otherwise not over-replaced...sleeping fine, temperature fine, etc etc.

Its not unusual for me to be moody btw!

so i have to tell my doctor ive pretty much gone up to 100 and dreading it a bit really, hope the bloods are good and i get a repeat prescription.

I think my tsh may be low, but t4 is always on the low side anyway.

just looking for any advice or encouragement...thanks!!

hi grace , I have always found that if you have one of the 'good' doctors it is always best to tell them exactly what you have done or are doing so they know how to give the optimum advise and meds --- remembering that only YOU can follow their advice --- by being honest with them [ the good ones ] they will help ......its good to hear that between you and your gp you are getting towards the end of the tunnel [ that light is nearer ] ....good luck for tomorrow ---- I don't think you need much of it ---- LoL alan xx

Dr Toft has said that we can have a low or suppressed TSH if we feel better and also we can also add some T3 to a reduced T4. We can provide an article if the GP want to see it.

If you feel better say you don't want to reduce and to let you continue for another few weeks before your next blood test.

went really well!!! i was so nervous...

said sheepishly to doc "ive upped myself to 100", and she said thats fine, you have to go by your symptoms...i also asked what would happen if my tsh came back very low, to which she replied...wait for it....

"we want your tsh to be as low as possible!!"

i nearly fell off my chair.

then she prescribed me another 3 months 100
