Hi , I get leg bruises all the time too and don't know why! I actually have had this for a few years, but ive only been dg with hypo in the last week!! that is only cos I pushed for the tests due to all my HYPO symptoms. I read that bruising easily is one of them... Last week, 2 small lumps popped up near my knee near each other, within half an hour they had both turned into big bruises! strange.

seems a symptom is bruising, have you supplemented since low? or at least eating plenty of meat (not found in veg) J :D

oh I get bruised shins all the time. It's part and parcel of sharing a small cottage with a large exuberant English bull terrier whose head is solid bone (there is a pea sized hole in the centre somewhere for their brain). Walk to make coffee....."I'll come with you mummy" ,smash in the shins>, turn to reach for the coffee pot and there he is right on my heels, smash on the calf, wherever I am, there is his big ugly bone head. Perhaps it's a bully expression of affection?

But on a more serious note, I do seem to bruise very easily, but they disappear just as fast too.

A new Dr in our practice thought someone was hitting me as I couldn't explain the bruising, particularly on my legs.

Turned out I had Hagerman's Syndrome. Google it, it's quicker. X

And how about abnormal fibrinogen for causing bruising? This happens when your hormones are disturbed see bmj.com/content/347/bmj.f45... for a fascinating story. (He'd had a head injury of course . . )

A few weeks ago I had a persistent itch on my thigh, & naturally kept scratching it. The next day my leg was black & blue where I`d been scratching. I wasn`t that rough when I scratched, so it was a shock to find bruises there.I`m having some blood tests soon with my new gp, so if there`s anything wrong, I`ll find out.

Just a thought about leg bruising. Very random. Many years ago I had constant bruising just under my knees on both legs. Until I realised I was in the habit of pushing my bed back against the wall with my legs after I'd made it. It was such an automatic thing that I didn't realise I was doing it. Do you maybe do something similar? Push a cupboard door shut with your legs, for example?

I've also found that taking ginseng can make you bruise easily. What are you taking?
