You can ask your pharmacy to only supply you with a specific brand. Most will try to accommodate your request.

When you collect your meds, always check what's in the bag before you walk out of the shop. If you're not happy, you can do something about it immediately. Once you have walked out of the shop, the pharmacy are not allowed to exchange them.

mine are good as when i got put on 50mcg Activis i still felt like death and thought it was those so they now make sure they give me the 25mcg brand wockhardt

I had this problem a couple of months ago I had been on 25mg Mercury Pharma and then doctor upped my dose but I was given 50mgs of Activis branded Almus and had side effects and had to return to the doctor to ask for prescription to say Mercury Pharma brand only. Lots of pharmacies will have a different brand for each of the different mgs as they will buy the cheapest brand available. Boots would not swap my repeat prescription of 50mgs until I got a prescription to say 56 x 25mgs Mercury Pharma Levothyroxine.

Hope you feel better soon !

my pharmacy are pretty good hopefully if they dont stock it they will order for me

i have 2 weeks worth of wockhardt left so plenty of time for delivery

The availability of Mercury Pharma in 25,50 and 100 mcgs could well be useful to you if you are having to search for the right dose suitable to your needs.I've just seen an Endo wanting me to achieve an intake of 87.5 to get my TSH as near to 1.0 as possible so checked with my pharmacy that I will be able to get all three strengths in order to do this .....will be taking 25+ 50 one day and 100 alternately.I think it is only with MP that I could this with without having to do pill splitting.Thankfully the pharmacy are able to meet the request...I hope you get sorted!

my TSH 5.2 so levels are good according to dr so dont need increase

but did find out yesterday that smoking gives a lower TSH reading which could explain why i feel so ill palps ect

next week im ordering an e-cig and buying no more baccy

i have all the stuff here for the e-cig and can mix my own juice and wean off the nicotine by making it weaker and weaker and then ill be puffing nicotine free (can even buy tobacco nicotine free flavour)

i know its not ideal but i did months a few years ago on an ecig until my mums 1st aniversary then i was back on 20 a day........this time im determined to give up

will give 2 weeks on that then ask for blood test

You say in your first message that you cannot cope with feeling this unwell and then say that with TSH at 5.2 your doctor says that is good. When I first reported here feeling unwell my TSH was 4.08 and it was suggested that I ask my GP to raise my medication which at that time was 50 mcgs in order to bring my reading down and that most people feel better with a TSH nearer to 1.0 but that was my own personal experience.Could it be that your reading is too high to feel well and your meds might need raising?

i do think i either need a med change or an increase but my dr is hypo on 175mcg levo and has never felt ill so i shouldnt feel ill

my drs work with TSH only and if that in the accepted level of 0.35 - 6.9 then your fine and any illness is caused by something else

Hi,

Yes you must make sure.

I was made ill for over 2years with the Teva brand, my case is now going through the High Court.

I have just moved house and my local Boots tried to palm me off with 25mg X 7 a day, lovely all that packing agent, they won't buy in the larger pills.!!!!!! so I've found a chemist that will, supply Mercury Pharma as I need it.

It is very important to stick to one brand and do not use older meds if you have stock piled....

Always use you current prescription, for anything, cos if you get like me into a claim they track all your prescriptions with your chemist.

The packing agent is to blame in my Teva brand.

Hope this helps.
