I have been just diagnosed with Hashimotos after been ill for 10 years.

Was told years ago I have M.E, but unsure as i think it might have been hashi's all along. Anyhow my Gp is useless and has no interest and just keeps fobbing me off, I only got diagnosed with hashi's because we had a locum for a few weeks who actually could be bothered to do further tests. I haven't had iron, ferritin,vit d, B12 taken and i am getting symptoms like breathlessness. So i am thinking of going to get these tests done privately. Can anyone recommend a place, that isnt overpriced? thankyou

Is there no way you can change your GP as you seem resigned to the fact that you are stuck with bad treatment, surely you must have access to another GP, even if you change your surgery. No one, in this day and age, only has to rely on one GP, especially one that is so bad.

Martyn Hoopers book Pernicious Anaemia :"The forgotten illness" is a good read and says that breathlessness can be a B12 deficiency.
