Saw my endo last week, results are back and it's not good news...

We had a telephone appointment to discuss the results (NHS endo from UCLH) and after testing almost everything she said my levels were fine! BUT MY SYMPTOMS ARE SOO BAD.

sadly, she forgot to test T3!

according to her, her guess is that my T3 will be fine.

I really don't know what to do. My brain fog is worse. I have become slow. Mentally, socially and physically affected.

Maybe I can start T3 on my own?

Any advice on what I can do now....running out of valuable time and it's affected me badly

Her guess??? Seriously...her guess?? Did she have an explanation for why you are feeling so lousy then? This is not good enough. Are you able to get all of the test results from her and post them on here so that we know what has been tested? She must give these to you - it is your right to see them.

I'm sorry if I sound grumpy - I'm not - I'm just so angry with all these doctors and specialists who don't take responsibility for trying to help you get better.

If you can let us have more information there are plenty on here who can give you suggestions as to what to do next, and that might indeed include taking T3 or and NDT, and maybe other supplements too.

yes! thank yooou!

I gave them a phone call and the results should be with me soon by post or with my GP.

Why are my symptoms so so bad these past few months even though I have had nothing to worry about nor any work/study's.

8 years of hypo but now I feel the full force? 90% symptoms except weight gain?

(not being ungrateful just want to know what's happened)

can I start T3 alone?

That's great.

There are some who start T3 alone, but it would be as well to find out what's happening to you.

Let us know the test results when you have them.

Fighting for more thyroid tests! How are you getting on with being diagnosed? Good luck

Hiya....I hear ya. Would be horrid if we get it sorted and realise that we been suffering for eight or so years with an illness or an illness made worse by Thyroid. Anyway better late than never. I posted here about what is happening with my doc etc healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Goodluck to you too lass x

It really is nothing short of scandalous that they are not interested in our clinical symptoms which should be priority rather dismissed out of hand and telling us 'bloods are fine' and being left high and dry. Why are they not aware that many of us need a very low or suppressed TSH as Dr Toft ex President of the British Thyroid Association recommends if we are still complaining and also the addition of T3.

Unless they give us proper and adequate medication without us having to resort to self-medication we will never get well with a myriad of problems arising thereafter which may well have been avoided.

How many difficulties sufferers have with losing jobs, homes, husbands, families, and most do not understand the turmoil our bodies are going through, many times unnecessarily so.

Just got my results through the post and although the endo said my levels are fine I really think they are not. There's a lot by as I'm short for time i'll show those which are relevant and add more later:

Cortisol (10am) 698nmol/l (no range given but a google search suggest this is high)

TPO 209 IU/ml (0-34) !!!

i'm certain that suggests a auto immune problem

TPO interpretation = positive

TSH 0.94 mIU/ml (0.27-4.20)

T4 22.5 pmol/L (12-22.0)

and again these are not in range!

im on 125mcg LEVO

chat soon!
