All welcome to this informal drop-in session in Liberton High School Library.

There will be an update on the forthcoming mini-conference/information day on 5th October (lots of good speakers lined up, plus those with lived experience - should be very good).

Thanks. I just felt that this information should be included in the post for clarification. :) I was in no way casting aspersions on the BTF or the people who attend the group.. :)

Sorry Louise, blame my extreme brain fog at the moment, didn't even make it there tonight myself as too unwell. Don't like TUK to feel they are being taken for granted.

Do TUK have any support groups in Scotland? I am not aware of any, but would be happy if there were. I personally am not a paid-up member of BTF, just go along to meet fellow suffers in person for some face-to-face support.

I think Louise just didn't want the BTF thinking TUK were taking the credit for their lovely group :D

I hope you feel better soon xxx

Hi Louise,

That is what I wanted to avoid - any misunderstanding, that is - I find it invaluable to meet up with other folk in the same boat and share experiences.

Any further afield than Edinburgh, and I would not be going as get too tired in the evenings to travel far.

I should also say, that I never lose an opportunity to bang the drum for TUK and all its good work, and the Petition.

Even though It's a BTF meeting, everyone who goes can say what they like without censure. It is very friendly and open-minded. Their official stance on treatment worried me at first, until I realised I did not have to subscribe either to the Foundation or their (alarming) views. Call me a fifth-columnist? !! :)

PS I would message people about such things but my messages are still inaccessible and HU will do nothing about it - seems they don't care much.

I've heard BTF meetings are very friendly too :) I also find their views somewhat concerning!

When I was having horrible symptoms a couple of years ago, a friend said the BTF were wonderful. I looked at their website and thought 'that's not for me'. However, she also said they are very supportive and the groups are good too. Luckily, I found TUK not long after :D

Maybe you will convert the BTF one day ;)
