I have had a trial of armour thyroid 50 ug daily for a week from a close friend. It helped me. Could anyone tell me a good/reliable place where I can buy it myself so I can self medicate for longer . My hospital Consultant has said he will send Dr Skinner a referral for me. That was 2 weeks ago. I spoke to his secretary yesterday and she said he was on annual leave and would do the referral when he gets back to work. I am bed and chair bound mostly as my energy is so low. I have 2 young boys 9 and 11 years. I am crying a lot as I feel so ill. When I was on the low dose of armour thyroid it gave me some energy towards the end of the trial and lifted my mood so I was not crying. Previously my Gp prescribed levothyroxine. Unfortunately I got chest pain with it. When I asked for a trial on armour thyroid instead she said no. Please could anyone help me find a safe place to order my own armour thyroid . Everyday is such a struggle for me.

I think it would be much better to wait for your referral to Dr S, rather than self-medicate with Armour. Dr S will be able to prescribe this for you if he feels it is appropriate. I haven't seen Dr S myself, but believe that he can usually see people pretty quickly, once he has had the referral. Good luck xx
