Hi All to add to all my other symptoms I am now... - Thyroid UK
Hi All to add to all my other symptoms I am now suffering from very itchy legs and arms can this be another symptom thanks you x
I can confirm severe itching is a symptom although it is common in other conditions too. I scratched until I bled but I think that was when I was hyperactive with Graves. However, there was a recent post about this and I remember some hypo people reporting they suffered with it too. Annoyingly, the search function on this new site is useless and brings up other communities (even ones I am not registered with) so I can't find the post to give you the link.
Hope it clears up soon - you have my sympathy.
thanks for your help, the itching isnt too bad at the minute it seems worse when I go to bed x
hi Ann22 - I had very severe itching too especially my legs and I scratched so much it looked like I had ecsma (spelling?) on my legs - it was always worse at night and I had itching all over my chest and arms then too - it cleared up as I increased my dose and though I am not fully sorted yet it hasn't come back
AAAAAH the itchy legs! I thought it was just me (I was diagnosed about 3 months ago, went on 75mcg Levothyroxine a month ago) and it's driving me nuts. I have a weird bumpy rash on my right leg and both legs itch like blazes sometimes. I thought it was the hot weather, although I've heard Levo can do this to you.
I was itchy for years before I was diagnosed underactive! It was mainly my shins, arms and midriff. It all went away once I got on a decent dose of thyroxine.
thanks for that zabby so it is just another symptom the gp will explain away
