Does anybody know if this is an official side effect of taking Levo :( I was asking as I'm going to see my oncologist and wanted to know before I ask her and look like a complete fool if its not.

I think its just a symptom of being hypo, im the same i look 6 months pregnant! Wish i could help more or give you the miracle cure but i cant im afraid. Am taking probiotics though and mainly gluten free so hoping that will help!

These are some people who had/have the same problem.

You may not yet be on optimum medication which will enable your metabolism to rise and may also help your stomach.

Just in case, this is a link re the effects of low stomach acid - I am not saying this is what you have but you can see how hypo affects the stomach too.

I am hypo and I get this symptom too, unfortunately :(

However, perhaps it's best to get checked out to rule out something worse if you have concerns?

Would it still Be like that if I don't have a thyroid?? I'm on 175mcg a day, I wonder if they will put me on a higher dose.

I am glad omeprozole worked. I hope too it was for short-term use only. There have been warnings about long-term use.

Cutting out gluten was the solution for me - and I feel so much better without it in every way.

Just thought I would throw in my experience of being gluten free. For over a year I've had very low ferritin - and have felt lousy since before I was diagnosed hypothyroid 21/2 years ago. Doc decided a few months ago that I should be tested for Coeliac Disease. I had lots of possible symptoms, including bloating. After a negative blood test and two endoscopies it's been decided that I do not have CD. However, now, only 2 1/2 weeks after starting a gluten free diet (upon instruction), I feel better than I have done for many years. I'm interested to see what the next blood tests show. Even though I do not have CD I plan to remain gluten free.

I've been wheat free for a month now and my energy level has really gone up...apparently gluten in wheat specifically can block vitamin absorption...

I too have cut gluten and sugar.. way to go for me too, especially helped with brain fog. As for the tum!! I take a super 8 probiotic and a digestive enzyme, amazing results. Not sure just down to levo but everything slows down when hypo so need to help/aid the organs/systems along.
