Increase in levo now confused???

I was on 50mg of levo My tsh was 4.6 and my t4 has always been 15. So i showed my doctor the dr toft book , he agreed to increase me to 75mg and would get my t4 to 20.

I have been on 75mg for 6 weeks and its made me really emotional and frustrated and brain fog/Fuss. Any ideas?

Have you had another blood test to see where you are now? Ideally you need to get fT3 tested as well. I found that when I increased from 50mcg to 75mcg I didn't really feel any better and blood tests showed that although my TSH had gone down from 18 to 5 and my fT4 had increased from 13.2 to 18, my fT3 had actually dropped It turned out that I needed to take some direct T3 in some form (in my case I'm taking NDT). I suspect that this may be the same for you, but a fT3 test would really help. xxx

Testing information available on the main Thyroid UK website:

If the test is available as a finger-prick test, that can be less awkward and sometimes less expensive (no cost for blood draw). Blue Horizon's Home Blood Test site does some.
