Anybody taking plant sterols tablets to lower cholesterol .and they work .
Havent taken the tablets, i got as far as buying a box but after my simvastatin experience I just couldnt bring myself to take them. Used to use Flora Pro Active products (dont take much dairy at all now) which I think is plant sterols and they worked. When I told a locum doctor I was giving up taking simvastatin and said I didn't want to try any other sort she said they had good results.

Higher cholesterol is a symptom of hypothyroidism and should reduce gradually once you are on the optimum dose of thyroid gland medication.
I said this to the Endo and he as highered my dose of levo ,my cholesterol was 6.9 and he wanted to start me on statins which i refused ,He said he didn't thing the higher dose of levo would make any differance and would review in 3 months. It was noted in my records that i refused the statins,Any advice on Lestrin a plant sterol tablet
I haven't taken any plant sterols but this is a link to Dr Mercola. I don't know if the link will work but on our old site, we had quite a few negative reports on the side effects of statins.
