I keep reading certain foods can interfere with your thyroid.
I need some thyroid hormone (levothyroxine) - but rather less than full replacement. This seems to be true for many of us, so food can be important as it can affect our remaining thyroid hormone production.
Further, food is important for the enzymes which convert T4 to T3, rT3, T2 etc. These enzymes are seleno-proteins and we require adequate selenium in order to have enough of such enzymes. That is, the impact is not always within the thyroid itself, nor is the effect always obvious as when it changes the levels of thyroid binding proteins.
You might find some of this chapter worth reading:

Yes,the list of foods to avoid just seems to get bigger and bigger;the more i read!i just read today two new ones i hadnt come across before;almonds and corn.i think in moderation these foods r ok.(also of course ,cooking brassicas well reduces/removes the goitrogenic effect).
