Having trouble with hyperlinks not working? Try this...

There seems to be an issue with hyperlinks not being functional at the moment (i.e. not appearing blue or working at all!) I think I have found a temporary work-around until this is fixed. It also applies to smilies :D

If you make sure that you put a space before and after your hyperlinks and smilies they appear to work. I.e. if you have started a new line for your link, press 'space' first before typing/pasting your link then remember to put another space after it before pressing return or enter. This seems to work for me at least.

Also in links such as this one healthunlocked.com/!/#thyro...

you need to remove the funny characters such as '!' and '#' for it to work, like this healthunlocked.com/thyroidu... :D

I know it's a pain to do but at least, if you have the time, you can post a link that works. I don't expect you all to go to this trouble but it is useful for us admins to be able to post you links that actually work!

I was going to pin this post for ease of finding but I no longer appear to have that functionality ;) Hopefully normal, but slightly enhanced, service will resume shortly.

Yay - just tried it and it works. Thanks for pinning this one! They might offer you a job sorting all their bugs! x

No thank you, lol! That is one job I would not relish ;)

Glad it worked for you. Hopefully this issue will be addressed soon so we don't have to keep remembering those spaces!

Just came across a URL with spaces in it. This putting space at end will not cure that! The site simply treats the bit before the space as a URL and ignores the rest.

Best answer for now might be a URL shortener like TinyURL.

Boo hiss!

At least TinyURL is easy to use. Don't know why I didn't think of that. Probably because I've been on here since 7am dealing with gremlins and such and avoiding the heat 8)
