New blood results - help to understand them please.

I have been diagnosed with overactive thyroid approx 8 months ago. I'm on block and replace therapy and doing quite well up until recently. Had a bad few days here and there recently but nowhere bear as bad as before meds were prescribed. These are my new blood results. Serum free T/4 is 20.2 (high) - range is 10 - 20 and my TSH is 0.11 miu/low. My GP says its going high again but I'm not due to see my Endo for another week or so. My GP gave me dud info last time so don't really take on board what they say until I speak to my Endo. Can anyone tell me if the results are within normal range or am I overactive again? I just can't get my head around them at the moment. Thanks :)

I can only speak from my own experience. Although your FT4 is on the high side it shouldn't be too much of a problem as it's just at the top of the range and not much beyond. I've had an FT4 of 36 at one point and I find I feel ok when it's 19 or 20. Your TSH level is lowish but a lot of people feel ok at that level. My TSH is kept deliberately low at 0.03 and I'm ok at the moment. I guess everyone feels well at a slightly different point but if you are feeling better than before then that's going in the right direction. You don't sound too overactive to me but I'm not a doc. How you feel is just about as important as your blood test results isn't it?

Thank you for that. You have confirmed what I thought. My last blood test for FT4 was 17 so it has risen so maybe the GP is just forewarning me so I can discuss with the Endo on my next visit I appreciate your help anditsbedn interesting hearing everyone else's stores on the boards.

It's funny, isn't it, because when I was overactive before my TT my TSH was really low and I was really feeling ill, yet now, I have to have my TSH almost undetectable before I feel well!

It looks to me as if you are beginning to go a bit hyper, or that your replacement is too much. Only you can tell how you feel, and whether you are hypo or hyper.

It will be interesting to see what the endo says, how long is it to your next appointment?

It is on the 16th July. I do feel like I'm going hyper again but as said previously not as bad as previously before medication. I am on 75mg of thyroxin and 150 of prop. I guess maybe he will bring the thyroxin down to level it out again.
