Looks an interesting set-up but a poor comment on NHS performance, though.

I suppose these Docs are confident/independent enough to stick their necks out.

Brilliant concept- will surely do much good!

My only concern is that us thyroid patients are quite complicated and time consuming to treat, I am not sure any doctor no matter how noble will be willing to give is the time needed for free? Still fingers crossed.......

Maybe the rest will be shamed into a better response than currently the fashion, particularly on UAT diagnosis and treatment. there's enough demand and the ongoing records will show results soon enough.

Time for the dam to burst, maybe? I hope so...

Thanks for posting this, not just for the thyroid issues but also for conditions suffered by other members of the family. I have 'bookmarked' their webpage on my computer so I don't have to keep trying to refer to this post once it disappears from the frontpage... :)

Guess they are going to be very busy at the moment, but have rung them an hour ago and awaiting a call-back. Janet.

Wow, I only joined this website yesterday and already what a find! I called them and they are definitely going to see me! I have been around the houses for 16 years with bad hypothyroidism treatment...only on T4 levo and begged my GP and Endo at the hospital who I just came from an appointment with to please check my T3 reversed T3 and so on. He begrudgingly did this for me but with the idea to "satisfy you because your blood work is "normal"!!!!!! I have EVERY symptom of Hypo and have for a decade or more now! The HDA was so nice over the phone and told me they would make me an appointment in couple of days, after I submitted an email with all my problems and a timeline of events. I did that and for the first time in decades I feel I have some hope! So a big Thank You for posting this link. :-)

Thank you Lettie999, I will let you all know. I think this is one of the nicest services I have ever seen in the medical community and I do hope the Consultants are top notch...apparently they are.,,and all for free. All I need is one savvy Endo and I will finally be on my way. :-)
