My GP told me that if I were to have adrenal issues, it would have shown up as an electrolyte imbalance and that since my electrolyte balance was in the normal range, I couldn't have adrenal problems. Is this the complete truth?

Adrenal problems question
I doubt it, NHS GPs know very little about adrenal issues. I took a private adrenal test to an nhs gp who eventually admitted she didnt understand it.
They only recognise Addision's from what i can tell.
Do what everyone else does and get your own tests done. Then you are in control
I take great pleasure in it and i've now taken to refusing to give copies of my thyroid tests to the nhs: why should they get it for free? I'm a taxpayer who shouldnt even have to go private.
In UK adrenal "problems" only seem to be recognised if you fail to produce adrenaline in response to artificially induced stress. The NHS synacthen test will show severe cases of this but not much else. However adrenals can , like the thyroid let us down in many other ways and can fluctuate from being under and over even within a day. Like bluedaffodil I would say get your own 24 hour test done to find out more. Good reading would be James Wilson Adrenal Fatigue - lots of ideas on diagnosis and strategies to help re diet supplements etc.
My son finds taking a teaspoon of salt in the morning in a glass of water really helps. If you crave salt this can be another sign of sluggish adrenal function.
Happy finding out
