Goodhousekeeping article (2011) and Mary Shomon's collection of responses...

I apologise to everyone who has come across this, but I'm posting it here for my reference as much as for anyone else! Whilst the original Goodhousekeeping article is quite surprising, Mary Shomon has posted an excellent collection of responses from experts.

I missed this in 2011, and it wouldn't have meant anything to me then anyway. I was still to have my hypothyroid diagnosis. In August of 2011 I was begining to feel really unwell - stress combined with getting older, or so I thought.

If only all it took was extra coffee and an exercise class... it would be amusing if this sort of attitude wasn't so dangerous.

Ha! So on that basis if I stop drinking coffee ( hmm I drink decaf anyway) and start doing crosswords I ought to be able to sort out my overactive thyroid?

As you say 'if only...'

Sure to be so ;)

Failing that, like me you can always take the little pill the doc gives you and you'll never have to think about it again... after all - thyroid issues are 'easy to treat'. Quoting my GP here... once again 'if only...'

Words fail me!
