I'm in two minds wether or not to go to see my GP. for the last few months I've been taking adrenal supplements again (Nutri Adrenal extra x 2 in the morning) which I've found have helped a lot.... until the last week or so! I've been under an awful lot of pressure last 2 - 3 weeks (i'm self employed), so I'm guessing the extra stress has just got to me.
I'm feeling quite weak, can't rush with anything, (if I do I just feel faint) I had to stop the car yesterday as I just felt so weak and shaky. I'm sleeping very well (thankfully!), I don't take caffine and generally eat healthily, but do have the odd piece of chocolate! I take NDT but I'm sure my thyroid is well medicated.
I just can't decide if I should bother going to my GP and asking for a referral to an Endo, I'm just so fed up of having to fight for everything!

Hi macangel, I have had my adrenal function tested and it is very low. I sent my GP the results from the lab and nothing has happened. I have an appointment on 29th May, so we shall see.
I have a friend on this site whose GP did take notice and she is being sent for further tests. Luck of the draw it seems. The NHS only seems to be interested if you have Addison's disease. They can't get their heads around the fact there are different stages of adrenal insufficiency.
I took my results to the Gp and she looked at them and said she didn't know how to interpret and if she could she wouldn't know how to treat it. I get on with her usually, and I suppose it is better to be upfront about it than just dismiss it. I have maladaption stage 3 and take 8 nutri-adrenal a day(4+4) which is doing nothing as far as I can see. I still have temp fluctuations of .5 degrees.
I think you should ask for a referral but do your homework and see one that understands thyroid thoroughly.
