Anyone have or know about euthyroid hypometabol... - Thyroid UK
Anyone have or know about euthyroid hypometabolism? (conversion problem?)

Best Wishes gimi-energy.
Hi The important thing is to have tests for TSH, T$ and Free T3, before taking any thyroid meds. If you are not converting T4 will be high and Ft3 low, , often too the TSH high, not always. This is common , any good endo realises this and treats with T4 and T3.
Best wishes,
Jackie
These links talk about reverse T3 which is one of the problems of conversion, maybe you can find some useful information.
Thank you everyone, will take a look.
Well, the doctor did listen , and did give feedback on what I said to him. It wasn’t exactly the outcome that I hope for (in some ways) , although I did hope that at the very least I would have further tests, and this is what he recommended that I go back to the GP and have my adrenals tested (my thyroid results are ‘normal’).
However, he seemed to suggest that euthyroid hypometabolism is something like a myth, although it is in Anthony Toft’s book, and it is on my computer’s dictionary!
Anyway I was trusting that I would get the right outcome and I’m continuing to trust.
It happened , but I came across some information on TPA forum about adrenal fatigue a few days before I went. I follow the links to the diagnostic tests and found that I do have adrenal fatigue , according to the web site.
To be continued!
