Can anyone advise me whether there is an alternative to T3 given the current problems. I do very badly on T4 alone and I'm terrified of running out and becoming poorly again. I was wondering about Armour or similar - I asked my GP but he said he didnt know.

I took my prescription from the GP to my local Boots pharmacy (just a small town branch) along with a print-out of the advice in nobodysdriving's blog thyroiduk.healthunlocked.co... and they managed to source a supply for me within the week! Don't accept no for an answer, they can and will do it!
