coming off Prednisolone....?

Hi there,

I'm having to take 2 to 2 1/2 weeks of Prednistlone for post op swelling reduction. Has anyone had to come off the stuff and how was it?

I'm feeling good this week and wonder if this stuff is the reason....so worried about the coming off and crashing...again!

How much are you taking? I was on HC for a couple of years and came off it just fine....

I'm on 6 of those little 5mg tablets a day.

It's funny how some people say how horrible these drugs can be but you had two years of hc and was fine!! Lol I've been told I must come off them slowly or I will crash..... And that's with me being on them for only 2 weeks!

I have been prescribed a couple of courses of Prednisolone for nasal polyps over the last 2 years, each lasting just 10 days at 5x 5mg/day, and I've had no ill effects from coming off them, although I did formulate a regime whereby I reduced it by 1 tablet/day until I had none left. It means doing a few mathematical calculations with the number of tablets I was prescribed in the first place (I was given 50 tablets as the complete 10 day course), but it was fine. By the sounds of it, provided you haven't been taking them for more than 3 weeks, you should not have any problems.
