underactive thyroid
I would say think yourself lucky that you have it under control.
Yes you are one of the lucky ones where the levo does exactly what it should. Enjoy
You are extremely fortunate and thank your lucky stars. Theoretically that's how it should work for everyone but you are on a dose which allows this. Others are kept on too low a dose with the result they still have symptoms or levo doesn't agree with them.
thanks all who replyed hope everyone on here gets the right treatment ./gps realy dont like giving out meds they think its comming from there pockets.always down to costs nothing else
Thanks for starting this tread. I am getting very frustrated with all the reports from people who don't feel well. There are lots of people who have a normal life on levothyroxine, but I expect they don't spend their days on websites. I am also disappointed in the way all GPs and endocrinologists are portrayed as incompetent, I think that is unfair. I appreciate some people continue to feel less than 100%, but if I was newly diagnosed and looking at this site it would worry me. So please can we have some good news too, because actually that is the most common scenario for people on levothyroxine. If you have just been diagnosed with a thyroid problem don't despair, I have been on levothyroxine for 14 years and all is OK.
spring, we presume people like you don't read this blog, or write on it, but we cannot ignore those who are in trouble and don't know where to turn. I wish all those with good treatment would tell others about all the competent GP's out there as there have been some incredulous stories about maltreatment. But there are many people who need something better than T4. Synthroid left me with so much pain and I wish it hadn't taken me six years to persuade a doctor to allow me to have Armour. Had I known..............
