This happened to me when I started thyroxine. Before starting my TSH was 18.0, Ft4 was 13.2 and Ft3 was 4.2. Six weeks later on 50mcg my TSH was 5, FT4 was 18.0, but Ft3 had dropped to 3.9.
My endo eventually agreed that this did indicate a possible conversion issue. He agreed to me taking Armour, which contains direct T3, and this has really helped xx
Hi This is common, why frequent tests to start with until bloods and you feel OK. Increases in meds each time needed. It normally takes about a year to be stable. It also looks as if you would benefit form some T3 with the T4 ( Levo). Most of us find we need FT3 to be near the top of range and T4 top third. Half way there with a good GP who will still test for FT3. Then you need the other related tests. The alternative to T4 and T3 is armour etc but most docs will only give it on a private script and even those prefer to first try T4 and T3. I hope that helps.
Best wishes,
Jackie
