Hi, can anyone tell me what ideal tsh, t3 and t4 levels are for a hypothyroid? Currently on 50mcg thyroxine, and supplementing with nutri thyroid?
Thanks

It's very individual - but I think most people feel best when their TSH is below 1 and ft 3 and ft4 are near to the top of the range.
Personally I feel best with a suppressed TSH < 0.02, mid range FT4 and top quarter of the range FT3 xx
jacs, it basically depends on how well you are feeling but if you are not feeling well, you should insist on what Clarebear mentioned. Your FT4 converts to FT3 so they should both be in higher ranges. If your FT4 is high and your FT3 is too much lower, it may not be converting well (you eventually could become T4 toxic). It's possible that your FT3 is turning into reverse T3 which is useless. They are reluctant to test for FT3 and even more for reverse T3.
By taking any hypothyroid med, your (TSH) thyroid stimulating hormone will eventually turn off since it is NOT sensing that you need more hormone so it will be suppressed.
Often the GP may not understand the full notion of hormone replacement and the necessity for the additional two tests.
Thank you both so much for the help. I 'fixed' myself and now my daughter is having problems I've forgotten some of the basics. Her doc has called her back owing to tsh suppression, and I thought there was a reason it could be low, but couldn't remember why.
Much appreciated x
