Advice needed about thyroxine levels

I was diagnosed with head and neck cancer 2 years ago and prescribed thyroxine since April this year. I follow the advice written here and take 50mcg every morning on an empty stomach and don’t eat anything until an hour after taking my medication. My question is I am feeling just as bad as I was before I started the Thyroxine. At my last review the nurse said my T4 was fine. Is there anything else that I should ask about in terms of my blood results as I feel that I am under medicated? I have a telephone review on Monday and would appreciate any advice about what to ask - thank you

My husband also had head & neck cancer and the radiation treatment destroyed his thyroid gland. His TSH was thru the roof hovering at around 10. There are more knowledgeable people than I on the forums but I know that you need all of the thyroid labs including TSH, Free T3 & Free T4 to get an accurate picture. B12, D, folate & iron labs need to be optimal as well.

Thank you for your response. I have a telephone consultation with the hospital on Monday and your response is a great starting point for me to ask some questions.I do hope your husband recovered from his treatment.

Best wishes.
