Topical peppermint oil for pain management?

Hey, everyone, I'm new here I'm looking for more over the counter options especially low cost. I spend far more than I would like to admit on managing my IBS.

I have only heard of Peppermint oil capsules but has anyone tried applying it topically to their abdomen? I'm not sure it would be effective I don't really want to be drinking the tea so much because of water retention plus the needing to pee often isn't ideal. Drinking the tea is however budget friendly.

These treatments do help me but the cost stacks up...

- Silicol gel

- Peppermint tea

- Hot water bottle (not ideal for summer)

- Paracetamol

-Antihistamines

- Osmolax

- Quickeze

- Micro enemas (constipation)

- Imodium (diarrhoea)

Investigate coconut oil for topical application.
