Weird pain in my lower belly

Against_the_current profile image

Hurts as if im about to need the bathroom but i don't need the bathroom. Hurts from like two days, especially around my belly button and below. Had a fever two days ago that is now gone. Was really stressed the days before. I'm currently out of probiotics, took some for the two days it hurted, wondering whether to buy new ones. It's always good to have probiotics but im running out of money. It's hard to pay for both my physical and mental health. Wondering if it's the guts or something more serious. Feels like a gut issue. Hope it's a gut issue. The pain is just like my ibs but my constipation is messed. Idk cramps, gasses? Or a completely different thing

Just make sure it is not appendicitis. The fever could be a sign. Can you get checked by a doctor?

Have you ever been diagnosed with Diverticulosis? If that flared up it could cause Diverticulitis, which can give you a fever. That would be an inflammation of the diverticular pouches.

Also a tummy bug could cause a fever, but you would probably get nausea and diarrhea too.

When you say your constipation is messed, do you mean it's worse, or has changed to diarrhea?

Then there's appendicitis. Sometimes it can have milder symptoms than the more famous kind.

Stress could cause pain, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, but doesn't often cause a fever.

Yeah. Thank you for the information. My constipation is like i want to go to the bathroom but can't. Sounds like a diverticulosis, haven't been diagnosed and don't know how to get a diagnosis

My diverticulosis was found during a ct-scan just a couple of weeks ago. Was into the ER here in Halifax for something else, but at least they found what could be causing the pain over to the left of my navel a few inches.

I am not quite sure how they diagnose diverticulosis. I am guessing possibly by doing a scan (I had an American friend who after a scan, was told she had diverticulosis) or possibly a colonoscopy

Diverticulosis is really common, and lots of people have it often without knowing. But when it really flares up with pain and there can be a fever, it's called Diverticulitis.

For diverticulosis generally, I think a diet with plenty of fibre and water is recommended, but when it gets inflamed, a very bland easy to digest diet is better so I heard. Something easy and gentle on the gut like mashed potatoes, white rice, eggs, chicken, fish, etc. But check that for yourself maybe.

It might be good to have a chat with your doctor.

Sounds so scary. And in my current residence it's impossible to be checked. I called because reading this diagnosis made me worried and i got told to take urine tests, can it be found that way? I'm worried

You would probably neet a ct-scan or perhaps an ultrasound (not sure if this will detect it); but a ct-scan will.

you could also have a uti-that can cause pain and fever and needs to be addressed if not it can get into your kidneys & blood stream- this happened to me and I went to ER and they got it taken care of -

I haven't heard of diverticulosis or diverticulitis (when it gets inflamed) being diagnosed with a urine test. Was it a doctor you spoke to, or a receptionist?

If it was diverticulitis (and that's only me guessing and I'm not medically trained!) then antibiotics can solve a flare like that as far as I have heard. I'd say if it doesn't go away or the pain gets worse, if you don't have a doctor, go to A&E, because they might be able to tell from an x ray which isn't invasive, and they would also be able to give you antibiotics if you needed them.

you do need a proper medical diagnosis, as it could be a number of things even a urine infection.

Diverticulum shows on CT/MRI scans, or cameras in the bowels. , but usually occurson the left side of the bowel, i think.

And as mdsp7 says appendicitis needs to be ruled out.

Could be the probiotics causing it

I can't get a proper diagnosis. Went to a doctor but she didn't scan me or do anything. Just told me to take probiotics
