ibs , constipation, sigmoid

so I finally went to pelvic floor therapy and they told me that there is no poop in the rectum. That the poop is stuck in my sigmoid based on where I pointed in the upper butt part. My stool is soft and sits there and I go usually one in 2 weeks- a month. I can not pass gas unless it wants to come. I’m in pain every single day due to not passing stool or gas . I have no break. Can anyone think of what testings to do or what medication or something I should take. This is my first time hearing sigmoid. Usually I tell them I feel the poop in my rectum but it’s too high up to reach and soft and it won’t come even if I push. I’ve took all the laxatives u can think of and nothing works

sorry to hear that you are going through this. I am wondering if you have been to your doctor? Also have you had any tests, such as a colonoscopy for examining your bowel? If you have not had these tests, I think it would be a good idea. The laxative prep they give you before a colonoscopy certainly does work!

I hope you find some solutions.

I have been to the doctor ! I’ve had all testings done and everything is normal ! I did a colonoscopy but the prep is too much and I’m not going to take that like that. I have constipstion every single day. I’m not going to take that prep every single day. It’s extremely painful that my poop just sits in my rectum but it’s too high up to reach .

hi Liv12b to know that you’ve had all the tests. I am sorry that you are going through this. I think you have misunderstood, I meant only that the prep works for the colonoscopy. You certainly couldn’t take it for anything else. It is just too much.

It's maybe a good idea to try a "squatty potty", It helps to sit on the toilet with knees quite high, so you're in a squatting position. Doing that straightens out natural kinks in the "piping" between sigmoid and rectum and can be great for a more complete bowel movement. There are all sorts of different designs to work with your bathroom decor and it can be moved easily and put in place when needed.

The prices here are all in dollars, but they are easily available in the UK too. Prices vary and there are some quite cheap ones under £10

it doesn’t work due to me having soft stools . Nothing works. Only time the stool will work are if my stools are hard and it’s very rare. They have no form. They just sit in the sigmoid colon

I have the squatty potty. I have slow transit so daily I take chewable fiber tablets and Physicians Choice 60 Billion CFU which are both available at Target or Amazon. When I occasionally have an issue, I drink 1 TB of olive oil and 1 TB with lemon juice with water (using a straw to protect teeth). These 2 things really work for me! medicalnewstoday.com/articl...
