Hi guys,

I was wondering if any of you can help me - I am tempted to see the doctor and ask them about some symptoms I’ve been having, they relate to IBS.

Constant, stomach pains, nausea after eating, loss of appetite, very lose stools, constipation, fatigue, mucus in my stools - all sorts. I feel like I’m going insane. I have never had problem with my tummy like this and I’m only 21 years old. I do have endometriosis so that doesn’t help either.

I am begging, does anyone have any home remedies to help with the pains - anything! Any tips! I would be so grateful! It seems like whatever I eat my body rejects it (even though I am avoiding the foods I supposedly cannot eat) I don’t drink a lot of fizzy anyway, I usually have weak juice or water throughout the day!

Please help!!

The first thing to do is to see a gastroenterologist to find out what you have. If it is diagnosed as IBS, there are some remedies, particularly the FODMAP diet, and a few others.

Hello

I use ginger tea, probiotics and ginger capsules, bananas. I also started to use lacto free dairy which made a huge difference. Exercise is great also.

When I used to get flare ups I ate a banana which helped or had a cup of ginger tea.

Not everyone is the same so these might not work for you..

Good luck 🤞.

As a first step you really need to see a doctor to confirm you have IBS. I'm sorry hearing this is no comfort to you now. You are in pain and suffering. All I can suggest is to eat bland foods and use a hot water bottle on your tummy. This works for me. But you really need to talk to your GP.

You will need to obtain a diagnosis from your GP first:nhs.uk/conditions/irritable...

If you are diagnosed with IBS, you can check back in here since there is much that can be done to help.

Hey Emjay. Really sorry to hear you're going through this. It is horrid and mentally exhausting to figure out what is going on, and why.

But, I agree with others when it comes to getting the right diagnosis. IBS takes some time to diagnose, despite some GP's jumping the gun. But before you try any remedy it's best to rule out other conditions.

There is nothing worse than being wrongly diagnosed and trying to fix it whilst symptoms carry on, or become worse.

Call the doctors, get referred and tested, and then work towards living as normal a life as possible. If you prolong it, there is every chance it will become more frequent throughout your life, and nobody wants that for you.

Hope that helps :)

I'm so sorry! This sounds a lot like what I've gone through the past year. For me, I made some changes and I feel about 90 percent better. Here's what I did, not sure if it will help you but it's worth a try. I started getting daily exercise for one. I sit a lot during the day and drinking water and exercise helped the constipation. I do about 20 minutes walking or eliptical 5 times a week. Nothing crazy. For diarrhea I started drinking a sillium fiber daily, small amounts at first to see how it affected me. That helped on D days. I also gave up gluten and dairy completely. That fixed about 80 percent of my problem over a few weeks. Finally, I had to give up caffine. That solved my mucus and urgency problem. I still get mild flares once in a while but I feel sooooo much better. It's been a year now and I'm praying I keep on healing. Good luck to you. You're not alone.
