Why always in the morning!

Hi all, it me yet again

I’ve had a horrendous morning, woke up with a very dry mouth, and nausea like you wouldn’t believe. I could hardly get out of bed, went to the loo and the most foul smelling poop just feel out of me sorry about the info😕even my husband complained and he was downstairs. Just feel weak, nauseous, wobbly on my feet, but it always seems to be a morning thing. What’s going on any input would be greatly received, I just can’t do it anymore, feel so down with this. Thank you for reading.

Linda

I cannot offer any positive solution, but some fellow feeling. If I don't take my immodium first thing I stay on the loo for hours. Dry mouth seems to go with it. More of a predictor. TBH I'm not terribly surprised it's a morning thing. It's the way our bodies work even when "normal", whatever that is.

Hi waz2, thank you for your reply, it’s soul destroying isn’t it, I just rang my doctor but have to ring back in the morning, I was on antibiotics a few weeks back for a suspected ear infection, how they tell over the phone amazes me but hey ho. I’m wondering whether I need more antibiotics as I feel rough right now and I think my ear is to blame for tummy upset and dizziness rather than my IBS, who knows eh. Take care

Hi i never knew that ibs can cause dizzy spells but it can,a lady on this forum told me so i checked it out and it can the doctor told me it was something to do with ear maybe an infection he gave me anti sickness pills for travel which were no good at all but after the course of anti biotics i felt a lot better i find that if you don,t mix protein with carbs with a meal it helps a lot

Hi Linda,

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I get nausea quite regularly with my IBS to the point where I have to take buscopan and gaviscon . Is it IBS related or do you think you have eaten something that hasn’t agreed with you ?. I am only asking as some things disagree with me like that example cheese and anything spicy ie sweet chilli sauce which I love but cannot have anymore. Things like that cause me to have really smelly poo. And coffee does the same thing but I put up with it because I need coffee in the mornings I just pay the price afterwards

Lots of love and hugs

Hi Shaun, yes I was very naughty last night and have cheese and crackers and ice cream with double cream on😳😳so it’s proberblybthst or my ear playing up again, I’ve had a few ear infections and I think it to blame as well as my IBS not a good combo. Gonna ring doctors in morning and see what I can get sorted, I can’t and won’t go on like this🤦‍♀️🥴🤦‍♀️.

How you getting on wilt the mevberine now?? Hope your ok

Take care sweetie

Gosh that food would ruin me! I highly recommend the low fodmap diet, game changer!

Feel better soon xx

Ooooo Linda,

I know we pay the price with it but sometimes you just got too. I can fully sympathise with you there, ❤️❤️❤️

and ear infections also my god.... luckily I have only had one and it was horrible, and yes ring the doctors and let me know how you got on, you don’t have too go on like this anymore we get through this together remember that .

The mebeverine seems to be doing the trick but have a headache now, don’t know if that is from tablet or just the stress of talking to my doctor and all the gubbins yesterday.

You take care too sweetheart,

Always here if you need remember that

Loads of hugs

Shaun xx

You poor person. I can understand that you feel so debilitated. If I had cheese and cream like you did, I would be laid off for a year! Sound like you need to take your diet down to clear soup for a week or so and give you colon/bowels a real rest to reset and heal. They are probably very angry right now! Try the pro biotics and stick to simple simple diet, follow the fodmaps. this is what I am doing and will report at a later date. By the way, the earache I am convinced is due to acid reflux. I have it a lot. Stop taking anti biotics - its killing your gut flora and making everything worse I believe. Take care.

Hi cats15, Thankyou for your reply, I know I shouldn’t of had the cheese and cream but sometimes just sometimes it hard ton resist. I’m am at the moment on a light diet to try and calm the angry stomach, it’s very interesting that you mention reflux and earache, I have bad reflux and when that plays up so does my ear badly, so it might be connected , it something I’m might look into further, I will search every Avenue to feel just a bit better. I am at the moment on another course of antibiotics for the ear, I wouldn’t mind but it was a phone consultation, how can they tell over the phone😳 thanks again.

Take care and let me know how the fodmap goes

Hi, I am not sure if this advise would help but when I was having anxiety, I would wake up with a very dry mouth, palpitations, dizziness and nausea every single morning! It was horrible.

I have been doing a lot of reading and have also read that if bowels are not evacuated in time (I know this differs person to person), then this can cause sensations of nausea as well.

In your case, I am not sure if there is a brain-gut link or its entirely a gut/stomach issue. I personally am beginning to feel that the link between brain & gut is probably stronger than we think. When the brain heals/gets better, then the gut and overall body somehow does better as well.

I am not sure if this helps, but for me the nausea & dry mouth were likely caused by anxiety, which subsided when the issues I was worried about got addressed however I am still having issues with my gut (when I was having anxiety, it was very bad, now its reduced, but still needs to be addressed) and for this I am trying the FODMAP for now.

Not sure if you will find this useful, but something to consider if its applicable to you.

Hi, and thank you for your reply, is it so helpful, I do suffer with anxiety and always seem to have a very dry mouth in the mornings, but I just couldn’t work it out whether it was my anxiety or IBS, but they do seem to go hand in hand. I’m going to look into fodmap diet lots of people swear by it, is it easy to follow, my attention span in not the best and I do get things muddled, let me know how it goes if you don’t mind. I’m at the point I will try anything to try and control this beast. Many thanks

Take care
