Hi. I was diagnosed with IBS in my early 20s now 36. Does anybody suffer from extreme bloating and pain/discomfort, not cramping pain, more like an uncomfortable like my stomach is going to explode pain. This also results in back pain. I take colpermin and buscopan to try and help. I can go months with nothing and then have an awful attack lasting sometimes up to 3 weeks! It can be brought on by hormones and stress. I don’t know what else to do. Anyone relate?

Hi there I’ve also had the same massive bloating are you having constipation too as gases build up if you are blocked up x
Yes. It’s awful.
Get some colpermin peppermint oil capsules it relaxes the intestines and helps with gas and bloating for constipation try olive oil on salads etc ,drink lots water ,don’t eat too much insoluble fibre like bran , whole meal bread ,plums ,pears are good !! Too much fibre equals bigger poo equals harder to pass !! X
I am the same what can I take please
Hi there get some colpermin peppermint oil capsules this will relieve the bloating and gas and relax the intestines ,this is what helped me also do some walking will move the digestion along and plenty wAter 💦 x
Omg! I was thinking to write this one... back pain... abdominal pain.... I don’t know how to deal with this!
Yes. I have BAM and the pain is quite intense.
I am the same! I look pregnant, while the rest of me is small. I wish I could help, but I'm also struggling to manage it. I will say I'm about to start antibiotics specifically for SIBO, so I'm hoping my symptoms are taken care of with that.
Could you let us all know how it goes with the antibiotics for the SIBO please. There is a lot of contention about SIBO, so it would be interesting to hear your experience. That's if you don't mind. Are you doing this through the NHS or private or are you not in the UK.
Oh, is there? I know we don’t know enough about SIBO but I didn’t know there was much contention.
I live in the U.S. I had to order the antibiotics from a Canadian pharmacy because it’s over $1,000 here, but it’s coming from India (that was the cheapest supplier-around $150), so it takes 4-8 weeks to arrive.
Thanks for your reply. I think the problem here is that we have the NHS, where your doctors are all private and you take out insurance to cover your costs. Here obviously the NHS don't want to spend more than they have to so it's hard to get a diagnosis!
Well I guess they have to, nobody has a never ending pot of money!
But please let us know how you get on. I do hope it works out for you!
I’ve had ibs c for about 5 years now and the pain and discomfort can be absolutely insane! I never thought I’d get better until they gave me linzess and I took that for 3 yrs then switched to trulance for 2 hrs now back on linzess after going hypo and not being able to move anything. I had to start with 290 to get myself moving for a week or so but now I was able to go down to 145. It does cause diarrhea which is annoying so definitely stay hydrated it is much rather deal with that vrs no movements.
