Has she been referred to a GI consultant or gastroenterologist for testing and diagnosis? From what you have told/shown us, all I can say is she needs further investigation.

I can't believe you actually have this to show us on your hands. Not really sure what to suggest to be honest!!!

Personally I would of just left this in the toilet.

In honesty I would go to A&E now with your daughter. All your worries and anxiety will not be helping and she will feel your stress. It will make her anxious too. If she's in a lot of pain you have just reason to go. At least they will do some tests there and then and put your mind at ease at least for now. Maybe if bloodwork is abnormal, they will give fluids, anti sickness and pain meds, they may even do a CT scan and possibly admit her. That's how I ended up getting the tests done sooner rather than later. It's sometimes the only way to move things forward quicker.

Many of us with IBS/IBD/infections or parasites have interesting poop pictures. I personally have a varied selection, from liquid blood to bloody mixes. Some with mucus some without. I've had raised calprotectin everytime I've done a sample ranging from 152 to 710. Still nothing worrying to see on scopes and scans but you don't know this until you get your daughter tested.

Tonight I apologise if my comments are a little abrupt as I'm in a lot of pain, crapping through the eye of a needle and totally exhausted. I've worked all day and mucked out 5 horses... yey go me!!!

I get the same mucus minus bloating and it is normal for people with ibs to have excess mucus in their stool.

Have you had a calprotectin test done

Had one years ago Don't have a clue what the result was as I was never contacted by my doctor to discuss it so can only assume it was normal as my gp will only call if test resuts need discussing.

I just dont understand

Looks to me like a lactose/dairy or wheat intolerance. It would explain the bloating too.

I get mucus with my stools which looks extremely similar to this, and awful bloating. I also get white mucus too. Excess mucus and bloating is a common symptom of IBS, however it is best to get it checked out ASAP.

Sorry for putting up such a graphic picture that turned your stomach..My daughter is 19 and has asd and basically doesn’t think about the gloves and that, she is just stressed and upset about this when it only started out of the blue months back.

I would definitely tell your daughter not to pick up poop with her bare hands, ASD or no ASD. Like I said if your worried go to A&E. If you don't feel the situation necessary for A&E eat a plain diet & no FODMAPS. Download the FODMAP App to help. Show this pick to your GP. Most of us are not doctors on here just people who suffer similar problems. Good luck

Hi there. Don’t worry about the pic. Sometimes it’s the only way to properly describe poop!

So if this just started out of the blue, it’s best to get it checked out. I’m not saying this to alarm you - but your daughter needs some help here. I have lots mucus in my poop and often only mucus comes out and I’m ok!

Has she been abroad lately? Has she had food poisoning?

It could be something she’s picked up or become intolerant too. I’m a mum too ( 20 and 18), so I totally understand why you are so frightened and worried. Visit your GP in the first instance and I would ask to be referred to a gastro. Also, keep a diary of everything she eats and drinks and a note of her bowel movements too.

We often poop out some alarming stuff, but it’s rarely anything worrying. But always best to be checked out xxx

We’ve been to the gp and explained that this all started a week after she began taking the contraception pill. Her diet is pretty much the same everyday because she’s funny with food. She had a stool sample taken and it came back with 375 calprotectin we are now awaiting to see gastro dr.

That’s interesting that it’s all started after the pill. I think you’re definitely on to something there. My eldest daughter had trouble with the first pill she was put on for heavy periods (called Rigevidon). It didn’t affect her tummy, but her skin broke out and she cried at the tiniest thing - so emotional and very depressed. She went back to the GP after a while and insisted upon trying a new one. She was so much better on the new one.

I really hope you can her the help she needs - it’s such a worry. Being a mum is so hard xx

Hi Poppi2015,That’s exactly like me,I was once told I was intolerant to yeast, but that can be a problem because yeast is in loads of foods, not just bread and cakes. I’m also very bloated.

I know how you must be feeling,it is all scary. But all you can do is make sure she gets checked out. Insist if you have to. Good luck🤞🏻
