Headache and muscular pain

Hi all, I'm new to the website!

I have been tentatively diagnosed with IBS, they've done all the tests, can't find anything else so...

My question: does anyone else get (besides the typical stomach cramps), headache and muscular pain all over? This knocks me out so much that I usually have to stay in bed for a day or two. I end up eating a very bland diet for a couple of days but the after effects and general tiredness can last for a week, sometimes syncing into a second attack.

There are a lot of factors that affect your gastrointestinal tract. I have been unwilling to weigh the pros and cons behind taking another pill but if I'm correct Celebrex is pretty good at relieving inflammation. Maybe u can speak to ur doc about it. Trigger foods are often a precursor to relapse sometimes for myself. I hope pain gets better and maybe ask for ultrasound to check for inflammation. I have chrons disease, so this is triggered by my m.s. a lot. Maybe another ultrasound might reveal hidden damage. Maybe?

Many thanks for your reply. I have had all the tests imaginable, endoscopy, colonoscopy, ultrasound, etc. I had gastritis but in a second colonoscopy it had disappeared. When I have my attacks, I get headache (pain over my left eyelid, always the left one) and then the stomach spasms, I almost never have diarrhea but can have 3-4 good BMs.

I feel as if I have had a beating, feel exhausted and my muscles all over my body hurt, like when you have the flu. Once the attack subsides, I'm fine and everything goes back to normal so I was just wondering if anyone else had suffered these muscular pains.

I am still pursuing a cure, my gallbladder was removed a couple of months ago, initially felt better but last week had an attack (endocrinologist had prescribed prebiotics and I was feeling good on them so now I feel disappointed) I do wonder about this diagnosis (that's why I said 'tentatively')

So srry! I wish I could be more help. Took a long time before they d.x me with Crohns, it is a culmination of a lot of belly problems. Maybe next doc appointment I can ask my doc his opinion.

Has your doctor ruled out fibromyalgia (nhs.uk/conditions/fibromyal...? If not might be worth another chat with your GP regarding your symptoms.

Many thanks for your reply and the link. I think people suffer from fibromyalgia all the time, don't they? I only feel bad when I have these attacks, problem is that I never know when they are going to happen.

This says that the symptoms can come and go ... mayoclinic.org/diseases-con....

However, probably worth a chat with your GP.
