Change of symptoms!

Hi. Everyone I have suffered from IBS D and diverticula disease for over 20 years.

Recently all has been well - no pain, no diarrhoea but during the last month I have had three episodes, 4 including today, when I have been woken about 3.30 a.m. with pain then rushed to the toilet with loose bowels.

Am starting to get a little worried about this.

Maybe I should start taking mebeverine again.

Anyone got similar problems?

I have posted today about night time bowel movements. I'm getting these a lot this last week.

Hi. Have yours started suddenly or have you always had them? What are you taking to counteract it.

I'll have to have a look at your previous posts!

Have just read your previous posts and you could be talking about me! How long have you had this and is anything working for you? If it continues I think I will be heading to the doctors- I’m not faring well with disturbed sleep!

Hi, no it is a fairly recent thing. I've always needed to go by about 6am and then go 2 or 3 more times in the next couple of hours. Then if I'm on a good day that's it. A bad day, I have more urgent BM s after meals. But this night time thing has just been the last couple of weeks. Approximately every other night. I'm absolutely shattered. I wondered about taking an imodium before bed?

Mine started about a month ago. It isn’t every night. I’ve had 4 episodes in the past 6 weeks, the last being this morning. I’m going to wait and if it happens again go to the doctors. It’s interesting you mentioned Imodium at bedtime because my daughter suggested that to me.

It’s a total change of bowel habits for me so am quite worried about it. I would probably have gotten back to sleep at 4 if I hadn’t been so worried - which probably didn’t help. It’s a vicious cycle worry -bms then worried about the bms! I hate this flipping illness!!!

Well , back on the plain diet and take it from here!

Lovely speaking to you and would be interested to see how you get on.

Take care.

Yes let's keep each other informed! I've had plain porridge made with water, scrambled egg and a banana today. Think probably potato for tea. But I only had plain rice, chicken and spinach last night! So I don't think it can be that. As you say, it's a worry.

Snap!! Porridge for breakfast, scrambled egg for dinner and going to have toast and honey for tea! Yum, Yum not!!
