Wondering if anyone has tried olive oil for ibs c . Seemingly it can help give relief. Think I will give it a go , might be better than laxatives, and gentler on digestive tract . Here’s hoping 😀

Sorry, I can't help with your question because I am more the other way but I would be interested in how you get on.

Yes, I have 2 tbsp of olive oil every day, usually on salads and I eat a thin slice of papaya (paw paw) if I get IBSc, it contains a very effective digestive enzyme so don't eat a lot! It seems to work for me, hope you find some relief.

Hi Slowdown. Thank you for your reply. I am happy it works for you . Do you get cramps with it ? It sure is a lot healthier than laxatives. I have heard papaya is good for digestion so will try this as well. Do you have it after a meal ?

No real cramps, just a few twinges to let me know something's on the move. I don't eat papaya every day, probably twice/three times a week as a maintenance dose, and usually after a light lunch Good luck!

hi my father was taking olive oil for constipation, and he banged loads of weight on. I am on magnaspartate powder 243mg once a day, although I have an ilestomy it makes my bag really runny tmi. Perhaps you could try this also magnesium is essential for the human body. Jo

Hi Lucy 7454. Thank you for your help and advice. Gave up on the olive oil as it is high in calories. Been taking magnesium supplement and it does help. Thanks again .
