I have been suffering with severe bloating and abdominal pain for 3 years now and it’s only getting worse with pain. I’ve tried so many tablets but nothing seems to help, I’ve changed my diet. I can’t eat dairy or gluten and I’ve stopped eating it apart from now and again as a treat.

Does anyone know of any good tablets or home remedies?

I was at the hospital they are sending me for a flexi scope and a biopsy and is also giving me nortocol granuals along with colpermint tablets.

#1 - Get a good GI person to work with and rule out all the big things

#2 - Be scientific about how you help yourself, elimination diet to test for trigger foods, make a food diary for tracking what causes you issues more than other things.

#3 - Walk Daily - 30min if you can - It can help greatly with stress and digestion

#4 - And easily the hardest, work to understand that usually, gut issues are caused by multiple factors, you need to find the factors and work on each one so you can peel apart the onion and understand the core issue or issues.

As a suffer of IBS and all kinds of gut issues I for once this past month have possibly linked my ongoing chronic neck pain to my gut health. Go figure, non related issues that are actually related. So make sure to look at the bigger, complete picture for your solutions.

And good luck as we all have days where we need a vote of confidence.

Totally agree with you. I found that I even had ear and foot problems that were linked to the same basic triggers (I have beaten my IBS so I can say this in hindsight).

Its utterly miserable isn't it? You not alone and all we can do is keep going to see doctors in the hope they can help (some are less than helpful or informed) or at the very least it is logged as a very real and growing problem. I ask myself why? Why has this happened to so many people worldwide. Its a mystery that bothers me. That said the reply you received from bburzycki is really good sound advice. Its taken me years (15+) to get where I am now. Some think im a bit of a freak with my diet of 'can and cannot's', but id rather stay in the I'll get by bracket then pander to others. I dont stress about it like I used to as it appears to be a permanent feature of my life. Ive never made it back to full time work. I have taken up yoga though. Its a slow burn to see the benefits but now 4 years down the line it has definitely been helping. I know its difficult for you, try and be methodical in your approach to find ways and means to ease your symptoms. You need a hug and support. Hoping you find something will help.

I am sorry to hear that you are suffering so much pain. I know that when I get one of those cramping pains that I reach for my Buscopan for CRAMPS. It is separate from the normal Buscopan, this one is specifically for cramps and it usually works within 5 minutes or so. Also, I don't know if this has been suggested to you but a very old recipe for this kind of bowel problem is a cup of hot water from the kettle every morning before trying to eat anything. Just the hot water, nothing else. After about half an hour or so, you can have your breakfast. I am in my sixties and my grandmother gave me this every day as a child as |I was born with, what was called in those days, lazy bowels, which is actually IBS. Try this and I wish you all the luck for future pain free time. x

Don't give up. I was feeling like that for a long time. I finally decided to do a full fast for 7 days with only green tea, organic honey and lemon three times a day. No food whatsoever. It worked. I feel amazing and it has been two weeks since I ended the fast. My intestinal system feels like it got a reboot. I encourage you to try it. I'm sharing with everyone I can because it's the only thing that has worked for me. I wish you fortitude and courage to try it.

Quite frankly, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I simply set my mind to it and whenever I started feeling hungry, I would drink the tea I mentioned. The organic honey also helped with any cravings. It has been months since I did it and I am feeling amazing. I think I am completely healed. I see so many people suffering from this and no medication or diet seems to be the fix. That is why I finally decided to give my gut the reset it needed. I highly encourage you to do it. In the big scheme of things, giving up food for 7 days to get the healing you need is really not a huge sacrifice. Just set your mind to it. Tell your body what you are going to do and simply do it. Also, for me, prayer worked too. I prayed and trusted that the fast would work. Hope this helps. I wish healing for you!

Hi have you tried fodmap diet for three weeks. It's essentially low fibre diet

High fibre causes bloating along with fizzy drinks ,beers

When tablets don't work I resort to ginger wine or gin . It often helps

Some find brandy best like my dad did but I hate the taste

Lots of water n walking can help bloating

I've got it as I type n ache in groin too probably spasms

Suspect sultanas or article sweetness triggered it

I must be more wary what I put in my mouth!

Ibs 20 hours now more trips to the loo than pain

I find Buscopan good for bloating and myrbentol for groin spasm

Lapromide which is what Imodium is doesn't seem to calm bowel these days

Went thru Dec only 1 day ibs

January 13 days!

Sunshine seems to help so off to canaries soon. Hooray

Hope something here helps you

Blessings

George
