Piles?

I've read that IBS can cause piles, however I've had pretty loose stools recently and haven't really been straining. But for about 3 weeks I've had a small lump that feels like a pea between my bum cheeks! There's a skin coloured lump at the top of the anus, that I assumed was from excessive itching (from vulva skin condition) but it throbs as the day goes on and more pressure is applied.

I've been back and forth to the doctor's in the last month about another issue so really can't go again, nor get the time off work, and having no idea if it's piles or something IBS related (though no flare up) was wondering if something like AnuSol was worth a shot first because it's getting me down!

Make sure you do see your GP asap. I had a similar problem for a few months before having hospital tests. Mine proved to be anal cancer, little known and very rare. Been treated with radiation. Amazing how many people I have read about since on the Macmillan site who thought like me they had piles, even doctors. Sorry if this sounds scary but better to get checked out. I am fine now

You must be psychic, literally just walked in from picking some up at the chemist haha! I was under the impression from google that they weren't piles unless they bled?!! But chemist didn't think so which was ok. Just looked with a mirror and the lump is huge and throbbing after a day on my feet and walking around, as it only seems to get worse towards the end of the day, so here's hoping!

If your Anusol doesn't work try Sudocrem. I suffered for months, i tried Anusol, Germaloids and a prescription one (forgot the name). Nothing worked but Sudocrem worked a charm👍 Good luck😊

I think so far the AnuSol is working and I really hope it does! I haven't found surocreme to help as the pain is more from it being such a huge lump rather than it being sore or itchy!

It's most likely a blood clot, these are small pea sized lumps just filled with blood usually as a result of piles. They usually resolve themselves within a few weeks. Maybe you could be prescribed some hemmorhoid suppositories, or a good cream like Proctosol or Anusol. I have also heard of people having a small thrombosed hemmorhoid, which is very painful. They can remove it surgically, a very minor procedure. Usually, it too, resolves within a couple of weeks..but if it bothers you, I would have it checked out with a Gastroenterologist, etc..
