So yesterday, I had one of the worst flare ups in years. It started around 10:30am with slight nausea and just feeling rough and a bit hot and sweaty. Within half hour, I had a really horrible squeezing/burning sensation in the upper left of my abdomen and up into my chest/throat area - when it was bad, it was a good 7/8 out of 10. It reduced me to tears when I drove home from work. I didn't eat much that day as I just didn't feel like it and it lasted until I went to bed at 9:30pm - took some painkillers and got some sleep.
I do take domperidone 10mg 3 times daily for nausea which I missed a dose the day before. Would this have such a big effect on me like that? I still feel rubbish today, stomach is still sore and I am frightened to eat anything, not that I have much of an appetite anyway.
I've never experienced pain like it, even before I started my medication. I am going doctors this afternoon but just wanted to see if anyone else had experienced a similar sort of flare up.
xx

I had a similar episode 2 weeks ago -felt as if I had the flu from the waist down, hot/sweaty and pains lower abdomen and left hand side that came in waves, this lasted 48 hours then the next day felt better but tender (no nausea). I presumed my diverticular was playing up. I can't help with the domperidone as I don't take but I sure someone else on this site will.
Thanks for your reply! Yeah that’s what it felt like, like gastric flu (without vomiting thankfully!) - it’s left me feeling washed out. I have stomach ulcers so wasn’t sure if it was that, missed medication or just a nasty flare up x
Yeah I went to see my doctor yesterday and he's changed my medication round slightly so fingers crossed it starts to improve! I know, I really cannot stand the extreme heat, it's too humid! x
