I am so fed up i constantly get IBSD and IBSC. I think i am ok for a few days even weeks, then i go to bed or actually sit down to relax for a change. Then the gurgles and pains start. Before long i have to run to the toilet. Then Have to stay there until its all over. Left with a weak gut. Only to start again the next day. Any advice on what to take as i get both C and D. The lower back pain goes away until builds up again. It exhausting at times. Fed up witj feeling so stressed with it all. I know certain foods can make my symtoms so much worse.

I know the feeling, I'm the same. I've cut out certain foods but then a few weeks later the pain is back again. Have you tried cutting out wheat? I use buscopan aftermesls and loperamide for bad days. When period is due it's worse. My stomach makes awful noises and very windy in the mornings. Good luck with it all🤔

Mine worse when due on period! I seem to b intolerant to most foods at that time of month to. I find on my first day im so bloated and sick i need to fast and not eat.

I have since found buscopan helps on first and second day of period it stops cramping and bloating.

I also use a really powerful probiotic and digestive enzyme every day which helps and peppermint oil capsules.

Oh and im also totally gluten and dairy free all the time

Hi Penny Lewis, I have suffered exactly the same for years resulting in anxiety and possibly a bit of depression. I recently had a colonoscopy as stool sample showed up a huge amount of inflammation but all was clear. For the past two weeks I have given up alcohol, not that I drank in excess and also sugar. I have watched everything I eat as it’s surprising that there is hidden sugar in everything. Amazingly week 2 the cravings and headaches have gone. I have been a different person, my tummy has been normal, there’s no grumbles, bloating and emergency dashes to the bathroom at random times, I’ve lost 6lb in weight and my skin is glowing. I’ve even received lots of compliments from people. It is difficult especially when your preparing meals for a family but the outcome has been worth it. I would suggest everyone with IBS gives this a go. This is a new way of life for me, I just hope it continues.Good Luck x

Hi like you redhead80 im thinking sugar and alcohol might be the next things to take out my diet! I do love a glass or two wine and take 2 sugars in my hot drinks. They are the obvious ones to cut out. I’ve read that honey being a natural sugar is supposed to be an alternative so have you tried that or just gone totally ( as much as you can) sugar free?

I’m not a fan of tea or coffee so didn’t have to worry about the sugar in hot drinks, but my work colleague has cut this sugar out and has lost 1/2 stone since January. Also I’ve never really liked honey but this week will use it it some oat cookies I’ve found a recipe for, I’m also going to try and make my own chocolate as although I stopped craving the sweet stuff towards the end of the week I have found my energy levels are low by about 4pm so I definitely do need a pick me up. Try it, I’m so so happy with my results, normal tummy, lost weight and fabulous skin, it really is poison especially seeing such good results so soon. ( I’ve turned into a preacher already 😂) I’ll let you know how my sugar alternatives go and send you a recipe to try if you like. Good Luck x

Looking up good substitute for sugar and the best is maple syrup ( it’s natural compared to over processed white sugar) so I’ve bought some to try! Only supposed to use a small amount - but it’s that or never drink a hot drink as I really can’t bear not having any sugar ha ha

Try some herbal teas. It’s easy for me to say as I’ve never drank tea and coffee but if it’s the comfort of a hot drink your after these do it for me. I drink tons of peppermint trying to help my stomach over the years but you can get some really tasty fruit teas and they’re sugar free. X

Thank you guys so much for your help and advice. I am so glad I am not alone with all this. Sometimes i do feel that way. I have had all the tests. A scan, a colonoscopy blood tests etc. Had it for twent plus years. So should be use to it by now. Will try some.of your suggestions. 😊

Hi, if you decide on herbal teas, just be very careful. Anything herbal should not be mixed with medication, as there could Be a bad reaction, and always ask a Doctor or Pharmacist. They are not FDA regulated, and who knows where these "teas" come from and what is really in them..
