My Consultant has put me down for a SEHCAT test. I realise it will vary from region to region but if you have had one can you tell me how long you have had to wait for the test.
I have had diahrrea and stomach pains in the early hours every day for over ten years. Immodium barely helps. I have had a colonoscopy, which was clear.

So I don't understand why your doctor send you to the SEHCAT test.
That's used to diagnose bile acid malabsorption. BAM can cause diarrhea but I don't think the stomach pain is related. (At least the test is not painful.)
He said the diahrrea might be the result of BAM. Many years ago i was given the diagnosis of colitis but a more recent colonoscopy was clear. I guess i will have to wait and see. Thank you for your helo.
